I love teaching

read more… read less… I started tutoring as a casual job during my first year of uni as a way to make a bit of money, since it makes a bit more than retail or hospitality. I didn’t expect that I would still be doing it 4 years later. I genuinely love teaching. It forces you make new connections about topics you thought you were already confident in. The feeling of directly helping someone improve is an amazing one, and I especially love when students come back to me with a smile after they did well on an exam. I also cherish being able to act as a guiding figure for other people whose shoes I used to be in, and let them learn from the mistakes I’ve already made for them. I feel like I’ve had lots of great mentors and inspirations, and it seriously means the world to me whenever I have the opportunity to pay it forward.
